The first Biotex testimonial was Roberto Conti, from 1998 to 2001.
Born on 16 December 1964 in Faenza (RA). From 1986 he raced as a professional and participated several times in the Giro d’Italia. By 1998 his name had been linked to the Biotex brand.
After triumphing for one stage of the Tour de France he went on to nab the young category of the Giro d'Italia 1987. Over the following years he became a team player, growing into one to the most trusted domestiques of Marco Pantani at the Mercatone Uno.
Towards the end of his career, he was also an important asset for Mario Cipollini.
This was the year of the propitious collaboration with the Alexia Alluminio Team and with the world champion in track cycling, IVAN QUARANTA.
